Not fixed, but getting closer.
Works like a dream on Windows XP. Ive been up for days scouring the net for a Win7x64 driver and it was so simple all this time haha. I then right-clicked on the adapter and selected Diagnose.

Hi, I just finished installing Windows 7 and, after encountering the same issue with this Belkin adapter as I did with Vista 64 – which required a driver from Ralink f55d9050 returned to their site and downloaded their most current driver.

Please note that there are actually five different chipsets used in these adapters – you need to check on the Belkin site as to which is present in any particular adaptor. This is resolved quite simply by removing it and putting it back in.
Thought I might have to buy a eireless wireless dongle then found this article – why on earth isn’t this mentioned on Belkin’s website? This situation is still a bit ridiculous in the first place though, belkin really needs to get on top of their driver wirelesss.
